Outside gas hookup
Can someone explain how to use the outside gas hookup which I assume is for a grill? What kind of hose to I need and do I have to modify my Weber q to work on it?

The connection you are referring to is a low pressure connection to your on-board propane. The link above is to a thread about this, including a kit that will convert your Q series grill...

The reason I am asking is because I am thinking of connecting a propane generator to this outlet and I want to make sure it is going to have enough pressure to power the generator. It is a 1000 watt AlpGenerator.

It’s off the main propane line back to the stove, fridge, and furnace. So I believe it should be about 0.4 psig (11 inches of water column) without any flow.

Most "dual fuel" generators use an external regulator when running on propane. The ALP 1000 appears to have a built in regulator and is connected directly to the propane bottle, or high pressure side. You would need to add a connection at the tanks.

So what you are saying is the quick connect option on the side of the trailer is not an option for connecting the ALP 1000 because it is not enough pressure?

The OEM quick connect on Winnebago is on the low pressure side of the OEM 2 stage regulator and is not compatible with the propane input on the ALP 1000. You would have to install a full pressure accessory propane port to connect an ALP 1000. This can be done using a Camco 59113 4 port Tee or competitor's tee installed between the propane tank and the RV's OEM 2 stage regulator. This tee is part of Extend A Stay Kits that allow an external propane tank to be connected to supplement the internal tank. The tee has an extra "accessory" port that you would use.

Now it’s time to decide to either make me Weber permanent to the TT only or buy maybe a 5 lb tank to refill. Problem with the portable tank is transporting it safely. I could also buy a quick concert for the Weber regulator in case I want to use it at home.

So for this newbie clarification. I have a 2108 TT. The propane running from tank to appliances is already low pressure regulated, right? So when hooking up to the external quick connect I do not have that hose with regulator? Simply install a hose with appropriate connections?

If your grill/stove will operate properly with 0.4 psi, then you simply need a hose with the correct connections.
