Wanted: Era removable cabinet

I have a 2016 Era 170X and am looking into buying a used (or boxed) storage cabinet to put in place of the passenger seat behind the driver seat. I understand it is sold as an option, though I did not learn about it at the time I purchased. My wood is cherry in the van. I live in Wisconsin but travel in the south, west and southwest. Or would pay for shipping for the right deal.

I was going to suggest checking with Winnebago, but this website shows that cabinet is something like 8 part numbers... so I can only imagine how much they'd charge you.

Winnebago must look at these posts. I got an email from a helpful rep who quoted me $1300.95 for one unit. Another reader attached a photo showing the sticker value for the option on a 2017 as $476. Thanks for taking the time to reply.

I don't know what the cabinet is like but I would think you could have a local cabinet maker custom make something to fit at a reasonable price. It could be designed to your specs and/or be identical to Winnebago's. I was able to use a cabinet from Lowes to use in my travel trailer and you'd think it was original.

Some owners place a high value on keeping everything 100% "stock" but I'm of the camp that you make your motorhome fit your needs. In any case, even if you replace it with a non-stock cabinet, it was originally an option and can always be removed if you want it "stock" condition in order to sell it at some point.

Thanks Bob. I plan to explore both routes.
