Computer/TV

Have a brand new 2020 2108ds with the standard entertainment system. An ATYME TV with the Connexx Entertainment system. Does anybody know how to get computer to work with TV To use for a larger screen. I have a new Mac Book Pro lap top with the HDMI cord that at home I plug into my 27inch monitor or my tv and then into computer and it shows on the tv or monitor but I cant get it to work in trailer. Any ideas.

Some details will make a big difference. So are you plugging directly from the computer to the HDMI port on TV? That woulod seem to mean you need to change the input on the TV to whatever HDMIport you are plugged into. Some do it semi-auto while others you have to point it out!

Could you tell us why you can't figure out how to hook up your computer to your TV? Info like... is there an HDMI port on the TV? If there is are you plugging the MBP directly into the TV's HDMI port? OR are you trying to use the Connexx system?

Sorry bout that, I take HDMI cord plug into back of TV, it has 2 HDMI ports, have tried both, then plug HDMI cord into adapter which then I plug into Mac Book Pro. The entertainment center has different modes, Blue tooth, TV, AUX, FM, Optical, USB, DVD, HDMI, none seem to work. I follow this same procedure when I plug my Mac Book into a 27 inch monitor and it immediately works , cant figure out what is different except the entertainment center .Pretty frustrated right now, Dealer assured me I could do this. We are professional photographers and we like to look at the days images on a bigger screen than the computer so we both can critique them. This should not be this hard.

What happens when you connect the computer directly to the TV via HDMI?

You would control it through the TV, not the entertainment center. I'm a bit surprised though that your TV has two HDMI ports. My 2019 came with a TV that should have two ports, but only had one (Winnebago could apparently get those a bit cheaper).

The other thing you could do would be get an HDMI port switcher, then plug both your Entertainment Center and computer into it, and it into your TV. Something like this, although this may have some features you don't need (e.g. optical out).

I'm not much on Mac's but if it were Windows I'd tell you that there is a driver issue. Do you have any other HDMI devices to test with to be sure that it's not the port on the monitor/tv?

Are you changing the input setting on the TV to match the port you are using? This will often be in a menu and may take several looks to find. Every TV is a bit different in how they do the settings.

As you see by the questions we are asking, if you provided much more complete details about what you are doing and such we'd be able to help you more completely.

You say, "Nothing happens to TV or computer" I guess you mean the TV screen is blank? And the computer screen is active as per normal???

That is exactly what I do screen stays the same(blank) on Tv and screen is active as normal on Mac Book. I have done this many many times on my 27 inch monitor and my old TV and was never an issue.

Did you check out the macbook's monitor settings as in the video? Don't automatically assume it's the TV. It may be, sure, but it could be the monitor settings in the Macbook. Or it could be the HDMI cable.

You've never stated whether you have set the TV Source to the correct source. Have you done that?

A Google Search came up with this:
Why won't my MacBook Pro connect to my TV with HDMI?
If your Mac doesn't recognize your HDTV, display, or other HDMI device after making the connection: Turn off the HDMI device while your Mac is turned on. Unplug the HDMI cable from your Mac, then plug it in again. Turn on the HDMI device.
And then I found this:

Don't know if either will help... but it's worth a try.

Thanks everybody for help. But nothing seems to work. I am pretty computer savy, (apparently not), so this has got me pretty pissed off. I have tried so many different ways too numerous to go into including everybody's ideas and suggestions. So thanks. Very warm at my home (100+) so am gonna hold off running generator to power trailer and step back for a while, maybe it will fix itself, ha, ha.

I don't have exactly the same system but we use the Vizio TV in our MH just as you are trying to do by simply selecting the proper input on the TV.

FWIW, the TV in our home is an older Vizio model that will not work with my wife's MacBook Air even thought the setups for both are identical, so it might be a compatibility issue with the TV itself.

What is a 2108ds? I am familiar with various Winnebago models - such as Minnie Winnie, Vista, Forza, Adventurer, etc. But never heard of a 2108ds model??
