I have had 2 Madnadyne radios quit on me in my '04 Meridian......in researching, I have noted that many of you have replaced yours also. I am reluctant to pay $185-$300 for a radio, since I'm only interested in AM radio. Would prefer to replace it with a 1.5 DIN radio, but they all seem to be in the $200 range. So, if you have one of the POS Magnadyne
radios cluttering your bench, would consider purchasing it providing the AM radio function works.

(My experience with this brand makes me believe it might work fine today, but tomorrow???)

I've got a Madnadyne (POS) I took out of my rig this winter. I believe the AM part worked(never used it) . The main problem was the cd player skipped when hitting bumps in the road. Just the cost of shipping is all it will cost.
But I think you would be better off replacing it with something else. A Jensen VR185 is an easy replacement. Good radio! Go to ebay & search Jensen radio. Around $100 & less for what I saw. Replaced the radio & be done with it!

Thanks for the offer and the advice, Dave. Found several Jensen VR185's listed on e-bay, and bid. (Don't toss the Magnadyne....I just might take it!) <G>

Hi Red,

Checkout this thread. The Sony radios are cheaper than you think and easy to install.

Thanks Gary, I contemplated that, but ordered a Jensen VR185 off of E-Bay. It's a 1.8 DIN radio, is satellite ready, has Weather/AM-FM/CD and my bid of $41 (+$20 shipping) won the auction, so.....

Will let you know how it works when I receive it. Are you planning to attend GNR? Will be there in the MILWIT row.

Hi Red T: Sounds like you got a great deal. GNR probably next year.
