Rear Camera not working on my 2013 Journey

The rear camera on my 2013 Journey has quit working. It started by not working when first started but would come on in a few miles. now it does not work at all, any ideas how to test it? It works in conjunction with the I River radio and when working it was visible on both the radio and the rear monitor. Any help would be appertained.

Had mine go in and out when going over rough roads/railroad tracks . Found that the connection going into back of monitor was loose . Didn't feel tight and would come out easily . Put a drop or two of super glue on connection and has not jumped frame since. Check connection at monitor , my camera 's cord was part of the camera

Which 2013 Journey do you have?
With the more complete info, there is a good chance we can pull up a drawing of what wiring is involved and show where connections, etc. might be involved.

I chose a couple different models and found sheet 9 of this drawing to have what appears to be a help?
https://www.winnebago.com/Files/File...ire_181554.pdf

You may need to check for the correct model but start here:
https://www.winnebago.com/Files/File...ram/Wiring.htm
Then follow to "front end wiring" for the corrrect info. Seems to be last page on the two I checked!

OK!
This should get you to the info on several points to know about. Page 9 looks the same for all models of the RV but there is too much to try to pass on posts. There are also two options, 15C without GPS or 15D with GPS option, so choose which best fits for your RV!
https://www.winnebago.com/Files/File...ire_181554.pdf
What caught my eye was the center far right of sheet 9 as it shows the rear camera route!
That sounds like one to look over but there are other info like for the monitor and you may find it helpful on other pages as they kind of show routes for different cables. Possibly helps to avoid tearing the WHOLE dash apart while looking?
Sometimes the lines help, sometimes they just get too many and we can't see where things lead!
If not used to using drawings of this sort, when you find a note about some detail like "detail JA" that tells you there is a far more close look at the section if you find detail JA. Chase on down the page or following for JA?

Good luck on the chase as it sound slike one of the connections may have simply fallen off. But the big question is which and where! ARRGH!

I would bet on a loose connection. I would start with the one on the dash at the main panel. I had an intermittent one on my right side camera, it was loose on both ends.

I have a 2014 Itasca Meridian 34B.

I would guess it will be a connection way before you get to the rear camera itself but this might be worth knowing?
Appears to be an access panel for camera?

I have a 2016 journey 36m. I have the same issue with the backup camera, have had since I've had the coach for 4 years. I removed the Radiohead, and was able to wiggle the wiring harness going into the back of the Radiohead. The camera feed would go on and off when I wiggled the harness.. I looked at the wiring diagram to determine which wire was dedicated to the camera feed. There's not enough wire behind the camera to pull it out so that I can work on it. The best I could do was cable tie the plug to the radio as tight as I could get it. That worked for a while. I don't know if the intermittent connection is where the wire goes into the plug or if it is inside the Radiohead. I guess I'm going to have to figure out a way to take the dash apart so that I can get better access to test it out.

Interested in sneaky tricks that can be quick and last for years?
It depens on type of plug but there are times when the hole where you plug a cord in can get loose or the center pin maybe not make good contact.
This is something we run into at sites where the temperature can vary way too much, so we got desperate for a quick fix!

It will require being able to get to the plug and depends on it being the right type but one way to make more better connections is to add a "shim" alongside the plug as you insert it.
We tear down a short piece of stranded wire with the really thin individual wires to use as shims to add as we push the plug back into the hole.
Just tiny wires and keep adding more as you test until you get a pretty tight fit to insert but still get it in place.

Morich, the shim is definitely worth a try. When I get a chance I'm going to try that fix. Thanks for the advise.

Morich,
Sorry I have not gotten back to you but things have busy here.
Yes there is a access to the camera. It is on top of the rear cap so thar will be the last place I will look for loose connections. Looks like most think that is the problem so that is where I will start when I get time. Again Thanks for all the replies.
