Rear TV replacement
I own a 2005 Meridan 34H. I am tired of bumping my head, so would like to change the bedroom tv to a flat screen on a bracket. Before I remove the cabinet that houses origional tv and attach a bracket, I need to know what the wall construction is and if it will hold the weight. I can't find any information on the winnebago web site.

If you a talking about the wall that backs up to the W/D, mine is thin plywood with numerous 1x2 and 1x4 backers. I would not want to mount only to the plywood. I put an access in mine that give access to the washer hoses from the BR side. That access would make it much easier to reinforce the area for a TV mount.

edndebp,
I did just what you want to do and it came out great. First I remover the old cabinet and tv. Now you can see inside the wall. I built a box out of 3/4 in Melamine, the stuff with the white coating, big enough and deep enough to hold a 19in tv. I then opened the wall large enough to hold the box flush with the wall and attached it to the bracing in there. I mounted the tv on one of those articulating holders and then mounted a picture large enough to cover the tv box using a piano hinge on the outside wall side. The only problem was finding a piece of wall board to fill in the wall above the tv. I went to a repair shop and scored a piece that was close in color and was able to dab a bit of paint on it to match the color. I then found little plugs that matched the wall board and put those on the holes in the outside wall left by the old cabinet.

Nice job JHutch. It looks like you replaced the complete wall covering and if you did, does it match the sidewall. I had a hard time matching the existing wall covering so I pieced in the piece above the TV only with a small piece that I got to match.

Chuck 1935,
Negative on the wall covering. It was almost too easy ...I just popped the wood trim from around existing TV and fount the screws that hold the metal bracket. Took that out with the existing TV, and went shopping to find an LCD that would fit. I then added the independent DVD player because there was enough room left in the hole.. Put the assembled unit back in and put the trim back on!
