As far as the file folders, great minds must think alike as I've "broken down" my black bag as well. Don't get me wrong, the bag is a neat idea to keep "everything" together for the delivery process and all,but I'm finding that many of those pesky books aren't really a "need" to see,but a nice to have....I bought a small hard sided file box, as well as one of those brown accordion things, but haven't decided whether I'm using either yet...

Hah!! When I told my wife I was running out room with the Winnie expandable bag, she ordered a second one as a Christmas present! -Geesh! So I'm re-sorting and re-filing now. Two black bags seems like 20 pounds of paperwork!!! Glad to know that I'm not the only 'collector' of tips and "how-tos" for my coach...

With the weight of the black bags, watch your CCC.

Thomas, don't forget all the Mapquest maps I've printed off and have in a separate file folder in anticipation for the summer's camping trips...

Thankfully, due to those beefier load range "H" tires Jim,my CCC is right on up there..

Hi guys,

I broke down the black bag too. I put the manuals I use on a regular basis in a 3 ring binder. The smaller manuals I put in plastic sleeves.

I put the three ring binder in the black bag. I have a smaller 3 ring binder with maps I've printed in it.

We bought a small footstool that has storage inside. I left the legs off the stool and use the footstool by the love seat. The infamous black bag fits inside the stool like they were made for each other.

I think we got the stool at Bed, Bath and Beyond.

I'm on the cusp of having to perform "bag management" as we are experiencing both a volume and weight issue

And of course we only have Load Range G tires

"Bag Management" is like "Tool Box Management" My intent is to lighten the load but it never happens.

OMG!! Good one John...

My idea to lighten the bag originally was a "self presevation" idea as the wife said if I kept spending so much time reading stuff out of that bag she was gonna beat me with....lighter bag wouldn't hurt as much.

I've made room in the dinette storage area for several of those brown accordion thingys...

I added only a small 3-ring binder to the black bag. I keep it in a basement compartment for occasional reference. BUT ...I have two large three-ring binders upstairs in the coach. One has the window sticker, bill of sale/invoice, weight sheet, all the checklists I created, and all the service tickets on the coach. As for the other one, I have fogotten what is in it (guess it's time to clean out!).

The three-ring binders fit nicely in the lounge slide between the couch and the front wall. In fact, there is a third small three-ring there with a print-out of my "military and civilian campgrounds" file. The two big ones fit one behind the other on the floor, and the small one is on top of the rear one.

I have many of my docs digitized and those files on my laptop. I've gone to less paper, not more.

Hey Tom.....thanks for the "obvious" John Canfield solution, never even thought of that...Wife is after to me to get a second laptop for her and the daughter to have in the coach,so maybe I'll explore digitizing some of that stuff and using up some of the 82 gigs of space I've got left...Guess John's traveling or he might've beat ya to that one....

Burn all the docs to a CD or DVD and you can access on any computer with a DVD or CD drive.

Or if in the proper DVD format, even on your TV's DVD player, no computer needed.

Now here's a good idea: How about creating a space here on this forum for the documents!! If you can pull them down from the manufacturer, then place them on a common thread here where EVERYONE can download the ones they need in one spot. We should use the PDF format so everyone can read them. If the manufacturer doesn't have a PDF version, I can make PDF's here at my office from paper and so can others I'm sure. Can we start one of those "moderator" forums for this?

Winnebago does have many documents on their website in PDF ...wiring, plumbing, paint codes, etc. And I have scanned to pdf files the weight sheet, window sticker, and things like that which are unique to the coach. Most of what I need to know is on my computer unless it is in one of the owner manuals (chassis, engine, etc).

Many of the manufacturers manuals and troubleshooting guides are available at their websites. HWH has their manual plus troubleshooting guides and the guides are not in your bag. RVProducts (basment AC) also has troubleshooting guides.
