New to us 2005 Adventurer 38J black reads 1/3 when empty. This year model is when Winnebago switched to outside sensors on the tank. After FINALLY locating the tank, I unplugged the electrical coupler in the sensor line and it read EMPTY. Plugged it back up and EMPTY. Guess the connection just needed a little cleaning.
All is well!!!

The sensors in my coach fell off several times and were stuck on with "goop" by Winnebago. Lasted weeks. Finally, took the front off the service center and reattached them with 3M Red weatherproof double sided tape and they have been great since. Also located them where they should have been placed.

Had this issue with my 2011 vista. Drained tank, then added more water to tank above the level I had the issue with, drove around and it appeared to loosen the junk stuck to the inside of the tank.
On my 2005 Sightseer 29R I was able to access my tank by inserting a sprayer down into the tank from my bathroom. The first time I had my wife watch the monitor and tell me when the water jet was lighting up the 2/3rd light. After that I knew where the sensors were. I would put my sprayer in the tank, point it towards the sensors and let it spray for a few minutes. If the 1/3rd light was out I was done, if not, I would let it spray for a few more minutes.
I prefer a sprayer with a single jet of water. I have tried the one that spins and the one that has four jets. Neither of the latter worked for me. JD

My Black tank has showed FULL for the last 13 years. When empty or anyplace between Full
It didn't take long to know how many days when a dump is required to be done.
Fresh water tank sensors still work and gray always shows 1/3 full when empty.
But will show a light on 1/2, 3/4 and full.
I haven't lost any sleep over it or wasted any time trying to fix it.
