Dometic toilet issue

So this year the bowl no longer holds water...ok fine. I hit the airwaves and books and I'm told it's the gasket.

Np, I buy the gasket, gloves etc and watch the videos then dive in. Pretty straight forward and seems to end well. New set was a dual set where a single came out but instructions said use it.

A couple of weeks later....water starts disappearing again. Not on floor thank God but still gone.

Obviously something went wrong so how about your 5 cents. Need a ball? Special single gasket or something I should have left to dealer?

Help?

Still under warranty? Have the dealer "fix" it and when it fails again, have them replace it. (Mine is sitting out the dealer right now hopefully being replaced.)

In the meantime, you need to get something that will swell the gasket (WD40 works) or replace the gasket and the ball.

Go to the plumbers section of your local hardware store and get some plumbers silicone grease. It comes in a plastic container about the diameter of a half dollar and about 5/8" high. Smear the grease on the gaskets.

When one of our rv's wouldn't hold water, I went to an rv place and got some red liquid
that livened up the seal. It started holding water again.
I believe it might have been Valeterra brand.

Try using a bottle cap opener and run it around the gasket seam. We have all been doing this for years. Body wast gets in gasket and firms up. Don't drop down tolit, we all tied a long string around opener and put around your neck.
You can get them free at Loews paint shop.We
It works great and cost nothing, just in my price range.
