Mike,
I don't have an answer but my problem may lead me to your solution.
Can anyone tell me where the fresh water pump pressure switch* is located? Or the code number of the wires going to it? I can't find it in the wiring diagrams or plumbing.
*This is the switch which turns the pump on when a faucet is opened.

Assuming the " normal" style, the pressure switch is a very simple gizmo built directly into the pump housing! Oft6en able to adjust it with a small allen key and if you are lucky as most ofus the spot to put the key is always pointed away from you!!!
A place to get more info that matches exactly what you have might be to do a search for the brand and model of pump you have but many are almost the same? A parts drawing may help find the adjustment.

Most likely you have a 4008 Shurflo water pump. If you have something different you'll need to let us know.
As Richard has said. It's on the pump and adjusted with an allen key.
Here is the written instructions. But as with just about everything there are half a dozen videos on YouTube showing the process.

Finding the pressure switch may be complitcated by expecting to find something much more complex that it really looks?
This is a common Shurflow brand and I've circled the area for the adjustment but each brand and model may be a bit different, so looking closer is needed.
Usually turning the adjustment a tiny amount like a 1/4 turn and see what result to figure if going the correct way. Avoid screwing it all the way either direction, though.

Most probably your fill/city water valve is in the fill position or is defective. If pump is on and valve is in the fill position, the pump tries to fill the fresh water tank from the fresh water tank.

What Mtn Charlie said. If I turn my pump on and it starts running but doesn't stop, the first thing I do is go outside and turn the valve from Fill to Normal. Fixes the problem every time.

It might be worth noting that there are two different questions involved as the first is from way back and the second fresh one is not the same issue!
The first from back in May never got response and I would assume is long gone as to why ist doesn't shut down. The second fresh question is WHERE the pressure switch might be.

Yes, you are correct and I see that now. However, if 20 years of internet forums hasn't taught me to look at the original post date, I'm probably not going to start now.

YUP! Know what you mean. Just thought no need to worry the issue on one that old and this forum seems to get more of the posts that should be new to get better attention.

I saw the second question and almost split it out into its own thread. But I decided to leave it with the 7-month old unanswered post just in case it might bring the OP back.
