Need source for new Lavatory sink
[SIZE="3"]2004 Winney Brave 32V needs a new lavatory sink. The current 'drop-in' sink is 18.25" left to right and 14.5" front to back. I have tried Winney parts and they don't carry the sink and sent me to Lowes and Home Depot. Note that the sink is not an oval. the left and right edges come roughly 6" straight forward from the back edge. Does anyone know where I can find this oddity? I haven't found it on Amazon yet.

This looks like a very special sink in design. Could you ask Winnebago who made the sink, maybe some luck there. Would it be possible to put a new top on, that way may be easier.

A new counter top is what I'd do and, since your existing sink is probably flimsy plastic, a ceramic household sink will be an improvement. Rather than Formica, you could even have a new, one-piece sink and synthetic countertop fabricated to the exact dimensions of your existing countertop.

I'll be doing the same at some point. I damaged my plastic sink with some acetone, not a good combination.

I asked Lichtsinn for you who is checking on price and availability. I will forward any info they have on to you.

Got a response from Lichtsinn and they do not have any left over however I see that similar were used on newer coaches that might work out with little to no modifications so I have posed that question and am waiting to hear back on whether they have a sink for a 2009, etc that may be slightly different but still close enough to fit the same cutout. The 2004 Brave was not the only year or model Winnebago that used a D Shaped Sink that was about that size.

Neil, it sounds like you may be on to something. Help from fellow RV enthusiasts is a wonderful thing. I hope you can source the sink but if not, I thank you for trying.
Blessings, Tom Masters

You might try Winnebago Parts. They carry items that the Winnebago warehouse no longer carries. You might also call them and ask for ponters on RV salvage lot sources, given that your RV is 16 years old.

Tom - I received the response from Lichtsinn and the sink from a 2009 Adventurer 32H which is very similar is also no longer available so perhaps one would have to look at even newer than 2009.
Its a little hard to tell from the picture as to why the sink needs replacing however if its just cosmetic then refinishing it with a two part epoxy may also be an option. The plastic bathroom sink in my 2001 is getting a bit chipped from the ladies rings and I have been considering going the refinishing route on it.

Neil, your efforts and suggestions are admirable. Where can I buy the epoxy? Home Depot, Lowes? Wait, I bet I can contact Sherwin Williams, Behr, or even some local paint supplier. If nothing else thay could direct me. Perhaps better still is the internet. DUH! I love it when the morning coffee kicks in. The worst case is I get a cabinet shop to make a new top. I could do it myself if I hadn't sold all my woodworking tools and house so my wife and I could be full time touring the USA. No real regrets though. I'll let you know what goes.

Call Colaw RV salvage in Missouri, they may have one. Google they even have parts lists.

The refinishing kits by Rustoleum and Homax plus likely others are available at Home Depot, Ace, etc.
The spray kits tend to be messy so I would be inclined to take the sink outside however if your good with a brush there are brush on kits too plus you can also call a local tub, shower and sink refinisher too.
One word of caution on the kits is to watch out for old stock that may have sat way to long on the shelf as you do not want an old can of epoxy finish spray or brush on.
Finding one in better condition that yours in a salvage yard may be difficult since most will likely have age related issues and may also be in need of refinishing.

Neil,
You are probably right about the salvage yards. I am really good with spray paints but 'dust control' of the spray would be a problem if done inside and in place. I won't take it out then reinstall. I have decided to wait until spring then toss the plastic sink and have a cabinet shop make a new top to fit whatever ceramic sink I find. You have been a great help and I thank you for that. I am going to remove the thread, wait out the winter, then take care of the problem in the spring. Best wishes, Tom
