2007 Meridan, getting ready for first spring trip. Filled fresh water tank and can't get pump to prime and build pressure. Hooked up hose for city water and pushed all air from lines but when I go back to 12v pump it runs but doesn't seem to pump any water. Hot water heater is full, small strainer at pump doesn't fill, pump runs quietly.
What am I missing?? Could pump be bad? Any ideas? Thanks
I noticed you live in Iowa. If your coach was winterized using RV antifreeze the valve on the suction side of the pump may still be turned to suck the antifreeze out of the bottles. There should be a set of lables near the valve indicating whether it's in the fresh water position of the winterize position.
Found the problem. I removed the inline filter (plastic bowl w/screen) on intake side of pump and reconnected plumbing and pump works fine. This filter assembly was either cracked or leaking air not allowing pump to prime. I can't see anything wrong with it visually. Will probably just run without the filter until I can find new assembly.
Mine did same thing out of storage. Pulled input filter an had water again. I picked up new filter. Different style. Allow take cap off an clean screen.
