2002 Sightseer Dash Air Actuator Door

Our MH dash air is not working. Air blows out of the defroster but not the ac vents. Does anyone know where the actuator door is located? Or any other thoughts on what could be the cause?

Dash air vacuum

What's the easiest way to find a vacuum leak for the dash air on a 2002 Sightseer?

To help avoid lots and lots of really useless chatter, can you define more exactly what is happening?
There are at least two parts to the question. One is if only the air flow is not going to where it should but it is cold when it comes out the wrong spot. That might be just mechanical trouble on moving the vents.

Or is it not cold whereever it comes out and that might make it part of the Air conditioner system as well as the vents?

The air coming out of the defroster is cold. When ac is on, either Normal or Max air settings, no air comes from the vents. Hope that helps.

April-

When the air vent system "defaults" to the defroster vents- and stays that way- it's a sign there's a vacuum leak in the tubing/reservoir that feeds the vent dampers.

On a gas coach you should be able to find a vacuum leak under the hood. Follow the vacuum lines from where they go through the firewall to their destinations. There's usually a vacuum reservoir attached to the firewall or structure under the hood. It can be spherical or football-shaped.

That system is almost entirely Winnebago. This website has great information about the various systems over the years and vacuum troubleshooting guidance.

A hand held vacuum pump/brake bleeder is very helpful when troubleshooting those vacuum lines for the dash heat/vent/defrost/air-conditioning. This one from Harbor Freight is about $25.

On a 2002 motorhome it is most likely a split/rotted vacuum line or rodent damage to the line. 2nd most likely is a rotted rubber fitting between the various vacuum lines and whatever they are attached to. 3rd possibility is a bad vacuum motor/actuator. 4th is a bad vacuum canister. 5th possibility and usually not that likely is the control unit with the temp knobs that is mounted in the dash could be bad.

Could also be failed closed check valve going to vacuum reservoir. On 2002 my bet is a failed rubber vacuum hose.
