Basement A/C service Tampa/St Pete Area?

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone has had any success finding a place that services basement AC units in the Tampa Bay area?

Thanks!!

Welcome to the forums!
I would call a local mobile RV technician, you can locate them via:
https://camperfaqs.com/mobile-rv-repair
https://rvtaa.org/locate/
https://nrvta.com/
https://nrvia.org/
https://nrvia.org/locate/
It appears they are more willing to work on these RVP units than camper repair shops, plus they seem to be more knowledgeable and truthful about their capabilities.
There are a handful of us members who have repaired their unit by themselves.
Be advised Coleman Mach/RVP no longer makes the 5 different units, they were all replaced by one model with conversion kits, the 6515 model. However, parts for our old models are still widely available.
You will find your model# on the left end of the cabinet at rear cap, might have to use a small mirror to view the data-sticker
When you know your model# you can download the free service manual from the internet, it includes an excellent trouble-shooting section.
EDITED to add this how-to for removing and repairing an RVP basement heat pump: https://www.irv2.com/forums/download...do=file&id=435

Unlike rooftop A/C units many smaller "mom and pop" A/C shops will work on a basement A/C unit in a motorhome. The basement A/C is much more akin to a home A/C and not all that difficult to get at.

Some folks have had better luck when they are prepared to slide the unit out of the RV or help the repair person do so. But it doesn't seem to be a requirement.

Though, I agree with Ray in the post above, you should contact some independent RV Techs first to find folks more acquainted with your specific RVP A/C

You can also try contacting the manufacturer. They often have their own reps, or know of others who service their products. in a given area.

I didn't open the links provided by Ray,IN, so this might have already been covered.

This is a long shot - the KOA in St Pete might have some mobile tech information. Over the years they have probably seen the need for them.

Are repair services (all kinds) getting any better now? After Helene and Milton the need for them must have reached an all time high.
