Norcold Compressor Fridge Works Sometimes View 24J

I have the Norcold DC 0061-RH compressor fridge in our “new to us” 2018.5 View 24J. When I turn it on the green light comes on and the fan starts up just fine. It cools down nice and cold. (I have electronic thermometers in the fridge and freezer with a digital display panel on the galley wall.) After several hours, the fridge stops cooling. The green light remains on, but the fan will not come on even when things start to defrost in the freezer. Shutting it off and turning it on does nothing unless I leave it off for quite a while. It will start right up if I pull the 15 amp fuse and re-insert it. This problem occurs whether I am running it off the (brand new) house batteries or 30 amp shore power. Has this happened to anyone else? Any ideas as to what the problem might be? Thanks

(I have also posted this on the View/Navion Facebook page.)

Hi! I recently got back from a trip where my Norcold fridge did the same thing to the point where I was dumping anything left in the freezer. Green light stays on but both fridge and freezer stop cooling. It will then trip back in for no apparent reason. Did you get any suggestions?
Thanks for your post and safe travels!

This is a two year old post with no info at the time, so I might not expect to get a response from the OP!

But when I look at this, I might propose an idea to check??
Do you have a frig manual in the big bag of tricks that should move with the RV? First stop for ideas and help?

If you look for a manual on that specific frig online, you may find a good troubleshooting section or at least a good parts drawing.
I have no real idea of what and how your model frig works but it is logical that ALL have some form of thermostat. That item works much like what we have at home to control the temp, either for heating colling of the house or of the frig.
It may be that thermostat or wiring is not working correctly to keep the temp stable in the frig.
As a first thought, I might wat to find that thermostat and make sure the connections for the wiring to it are good, clean and solid.
What I don't have any ideas on? Its the location and what type thermostat is used.

Much older were easier to take the probe off the cooling fins and test them in a glass of ice water.!

Maybe as simple as the connections come loose as the frig makes them cold enough to contract slightly?

First thought that may not mean much but just get the ideas flowing!

Fixed

It turned out to be a bad thermostat. Once replaced-problem solved. Two years of trouble free operation. The thermostat is incorporated into the temperature control/on-off dial. It’s all one piece.
