Running coleman mach 15 on 20 amp - success

Just a confirmation, as I searched everywhere for advice.

I have a 2019 31k Minnie Winnie with 2 mach 15 AC's on a 30amp service. I have the 2nd AC wired separate to a outlet ran near bathroom plumbing.

When I camp, I plug the main power into a 50amp and the 2nd ac into the 30amp.

However, the campground I'm going to only has 30amp and a 20amp 110 outlet.

I added a softstart to the rear AC, and it runs with no issues on the 20 amp 110 plug.

That's good news but you probably didn't need the soft start, the unit is designed to run on a 20 amp circuit as is. Not that it's a bad idea to have a soft start, you could run into a situation where the pedestal capacity is limited and it may help you in that case.

Good to know, the main thought was just in case, although the ac is much quieter now when the compressor kicks on. But for $150 for the softstart, I felt it was a good investment.

Yes it helps eliminate that loud bump when it starts. Where did you find one for $150? I've been holding off due to the cost but for $150 I'd do it.

Off Amazon, it was the "spartan power spartanstart" Very easy install, and it works like it should.

When I only had 110 at the driveway I could run one AC off of it with no problem. If DW plugged in the vacuum cleaner or anything other than a light was turned on - poof - throw the circuit braker.

As stated, designed to run on 20 amp circuit.
