2022 View refrigerator
Hello……my current storage location for my view only has a 110V outlet, I want to pre-cool the refrigerator prior to a trip tomorrow. Is there any way to plug the refrigerator into a 110V extension cord? I suspect the fridge plugs into a 110 outlet somewhere behind it, but is it accessible? I would appreciate the benefit of anyones experience!
Glenn.

We do that all of the time in our driveway. We bought a 15A adaptor plug that has a female end for your 30A coach cord and a male end for the extension cord. Once it’s plugged into our 20A garage outlet, we turn our fridge on and it’s ready to start cooling. You can easily order them from Amazon or a local RV dealer. Works great. Just make sure your coach is level.

This one we like as it quick and easy to get at so many places.

It is likely not to work with using the air as many due use too much power but for frig cooling and lighting, it works fine, just avoid the higher power things like microwave and air.

We always plug our 21D into 110 shore power when parked in storage - and at home, we plug it into a space 50A outlet (we have for EV charging).
When plugged into 110, it's important to have the HVAC control set to OFF, because the air conditioner/heat pump will try to turn on if triggered by temperature - and that could blow the breaker for the 110 circuit.
We've found that it only takes a few hours to get the refrigerator cool enough for food. But takes longer to get the freezer cold enough to freeze ice cubes - probably needs overnight for that...

Thanks for that advice......I purchased a 30amp to 15amp converter and plugged the RV into the 110 15V supply from the house, sure enough, the fridge and freezer were up to snuff within 12 hours ready to go!

Keep in mind... it's not a "converter" just a plug adapter. It's only making it possible to plug into a 15-amp socket. It's not converting much of anything else other than the plug.

Just 1 more thing we’ve found helpful at least once. We bought a 50A/30A adapter plug. We pulled into a site once and the 30A socket was inoperable. So we used that 50/30 adapter and were good to go. They didn’t have a maintenance person to repair the 30A issue.

We always carry adapters for 50A and 110 outlets - plus a 30A extension cord.
We also have been bringing an Ego+ PowerStation which can provide an additional 1400 Wh of power beyond the 3000 Wh we have with our lithium batteries, in case we end up boondocking without shore power. We can connect the PowerStation to the shore power with the 110 adapter and run everything except the A/C.

Or drive way is a on a hill so running the refrigerator the night before is not an option. We will pack the refrigerator on day we are leaving and add several cold packs. The same as you would if this was a cooler with no power. Had no problems with food spoilage.
The cold packs do take up some room so as she needs space they are removed. They can also come in handy for day hikes keeping things cold in the PU truck on those long day excursions. .

If you have a 2020 or later V/N, the compressor refrigerator does not need to be level to work.

We have the 2021 24V. If we run the refrigerator while in the driveway on the hill I will get a rapping sound from the compressor. Sounds like its not getting the lubricating oil where it is needed. My solution is 6" ramps made from 2x10 lumber placed under the front wheels. While not completely level the bubble is within the outer bans. Also makes walking in the RV much easier. I place wheel chocks in front of the rear wheels to prevent going too far forward. I have it measured out and marked on the drive way for quick setup.

The compressor refrigerators should be able to operate without the coach being level.
If you're hearing sounds while the coach isn't level, then the refrigerator should be checked - and possibly replaced.

Rprochnow; The Norcool model #N10DCX manual clearly states when stationary the unit should be level or within 10 degrees off level. From a mechanical point of view it make sense that it needs to be level.

I run my AC and the refrigerator off a 15 amp supply when at home. I do this after the converter has charged the battery. If the converter is pumping out 80 amps into the battery, the 15 amp breaker would be tripped.
I use a 10 gauge extension cord plugged into the RV cord to minimize voltage drop.
