Considering trading up…

Considering trading my 2005 four winds majestic for a 2014 Winnebago 26HE.

What are your thoughts or feedback on the Winnebago?

We have had ours 2 years are are impressed by the quality of the MH. We have had zero problems other than those caused by ourselves and a few stupid things which are normal.

I just traded for my 4th Winnebago. I like the brand. Have had good service from the factory no matter how old my coach got. The Rally every summer is a hoot too. I only have 300 miles on the new one, but so far I like all the features.

So we did it... DW and I made our first road trip to FL, about 700 miles, mostly i95. The machine sounded like it was gonna rattle itself apart most of the trip....

I put paper wedges in the front (driver and passenger) windows, which helped, but there's sounds behind the tv Mount, and behind the dash lower (knee?) panel...

While I've driven this route many times in cars, and hated the right lane before, I have found a greater level of angst for it, especially the right lane...

Boy I know this one. My guess is you are speaking of South Carolina. The right lane is almost unusable in spots so everyone jams into the left lane. Terrible.

If you have the Schwintek drive system on your slides use CAUTION and read the various threads on here! I have an Itasca - Suncruiser 35P and have had a failure. NOT a good feeling. I have Coachnet for on the road service and it saved my butt when the slide broke.

Does not seem to be much difference between the two, except for newer. I'll bet the 2005 has a better quieter ride.

The older class c definitely had the better ride!!! If the asphalt is in good shape and the traffic is light, maybe the 26HE... can't help but wonder if length might play a factor... like 35+... ?

I switched from a Newmar (Essex) to a Winnebago, and am very happy I did.

Just bought my 8th motorhome in 26 years and it is my 4th Winnebago. You will need to make a trip to the Winnebago Rally in July at Forest City Iowa and tour the plant.

On our first Winnebago, so far so good. I had always heard that down the road parts availability is better on older Winnebagos than other brands. We shall see.

Bargeman, before you head home from FL, you should fill up with gas at a truck stop. Then, run your rig across a CAT scale and get it weighed. After that, adjust your tire pressure. This could be a cause of your rough ride...over inflated tires.
