Couch foot stool release
Couch foot stool won't release when trying to store it. It releases ok to extend it but it doesn't want to release when you want to push it back in.
Anyone ever have this problem or do you know what I should look for?
Thanks,
Ron

Did you flip the chair over to physically inspect the mechanism working the handle?
Look for loose and worn parts. It could be a worn or missing bushing ?

It's the main couch, not the chair.
I wish I could flip the couch over, it would probably be easier to see the problem, maybe
I have crawled under the edge of the couch to where I can see the latch but I don't really understand how it operates
Thanks,
Ron

Couch Release
Below is a diagram of the slide. There is a cable between the slide and the release handle. The release handle is a stamped metal part and I have seen them bend and the cable is not pulled enough to release the slide.

Grant,
I'll check to see if there is an adjustment to the cable that releases the latch.
Thanks,
Ron

On my previous 03 Adventurer I sometimes had to lift the foot stool slightly while squeezing latch handle.

The cable on ours broke with the footrest locked closed. A tech at Lazydays was able to get it opened. They didn't have a replacement cable so he used a wire tie to keep it unlatched. They ordered a new cable and mailed it to me. I have not installed the new cable because the footrest stays where I put it. You may wanted disable the latch while you can still operate it, if that cable breaks it' a PITA.

Ours unlocks ok but it feels like it is hitting something when I want to push it back in. When it first started doing that, I would give it a hard shove and it would clear whatever was obstructing it.
I might try disconnecting the lever all together and see if that works.
Thanks all for the help and suggestions,
Ron

Don't disconnect without tieing the latch open. If you don't disable the latch it latch closed and you'll be in trouble. My couch has a couple of heavy wire ramps that the footrest rides up on. Try lifting the footrest just before reaching the full in postion. I had to bend one of ramps because one wanted to go over and the other wanted to go under.

Hi, ours does the exact same thing the catch releases but when you push it in it feels like it is hitting something. It's the alignment on the tracks. I have to reach in and lift the track a little where they slide into each other. Makes me not want to pull the dern thing out!

That's exactly the way I feel, but I have to pull it out to get the fur babies out

I can't remember the exact details ... but it seems like mine was getting a mind of it's own ... I examined it and decided it was like a brake cable on a bicycle ... I tightened or loosened the cable housing (can't remember which) and then it behaved properly ...

I decided right after I bought my coach that the footrest on the sofa was something I could do without. I removed it completely and now use the under sofa area for storage. Cases of soda and water fit just right.

Our couch foot rest was very difficult to slide in and some silicone spray on the tracks made it much easier to do so.

I don't know why I have been fighting this thing so long. That simple little trick of lifting up on the track makes it clear what ever that obstruction is
My wife said she told me to do that a long time ago, but I sure don't remember her saying that
Thanks again for the post. I'll have to check it out further when we get back from our vacation, or maybe while on vacation
Ron
