Sounds like on the right track and it may not help but I might throw in some personal experience with the Reliable dealer. I have never stopped on their lot as their car lot left such a bad taste in my mouth!
Looking at trading in older for newer and ran into such a mess. Took my keys to the car, would not return them until we made a deal. I finally threatened to call the police if they did not give me my keys and tell me where my car was! While we were trying to get a final deal, no less than five guys kept coming by the desk and staring at us! The big holdup? I refused to pay an additional fifty dollar for "paperwork" as we had not agreed/discussed that sort of nonsense. We were there over three hours and left over a difference of $50 and their attitude. Never gone back.
