Welcome to a new set of friends! This is an often debated topic around the camp fire - some use polishes, some sealants, some ceramics. Do you apply by hand or buffer - how about claying abused surfaces?
Perhaps start by checking that you don't have a 'coating' on your front end - like a clear plastic sheet applied over the paint on the entire front end. Look closely at the edges for evidence of a seam - and in the body for nicks, scratches, etc. If it's there - may need to be removed and then replaced - or go to another alternative. If you don't have a coating - how about a good wash with a mild cleaner (I use baby wash and vinegar mixed in water) and then apply any polish or sealant you already have on hand and see what you get. From there you can begin to narrow down your options - how much do you want to spend in time, energy and money? And there's always wash and wax services that will promise you great improvements - most with less success than desired - and greater cost.
I've always done my coach by hand - washed as above - and sealed with Meguiar's 21 sealant - looks pretty good after 8 years and 65K miles.
I'm sure many others will share their ideas...
