Exterior TV Removal

HI. I have a 2012 Journey 36M. I want to remove the exterior TV. Has anyone done this and how difficult is it? Thanks for your help.

I’ve not removed mine but it’s on a swing out mount so it shouldn’t be a problem to remove. I’m surprised yours isn’t on the same kind of mount. There’s a small strap hanging down behind the TV. You pull that to unlock the swing mount.

Thanks, I didn't see the strap, but I'll check again.

Looking at the 2012 Journey brochure, it shows an exterior entertainment system similar to the one on my ‘11 Adventurer 37F. Mine had a 32” Jensen stuffed into the opening that couldn’t swing out even if it was on a swing mount. Mine was mounted to a flat steel plate held on by 4 screws (2 on each side) which were accessible along the side. First I removed radio and then the speaker and radio board by removing the 4 screws holding it in. The plate that the tv is mounted to rests on a couple metal L tabs welded on the back wall framing , so it will stay in place after the 4 screws are removed. Mine took a little persuading with a pry bar to free it. The rear of my Jensen had an array of composite RCA type connections that are not found on newer TVs. Mine had a feed from the Jensen stereo/cd/dvd player next to it along with a feed from the multiplexer over the cab area feeding the Sat/DVD/aux. to it. Hope this helps.
