Fuel filter Access? 2004 Sunova 27C P32 Workhorse

I have a 2004 Itasca Sunova 27C P32 Workhorse chassis. I would like to change the fuel filter but the location is a problem. It is not mounted on the side rail (which most are) but is mounted on the back rail. Talk about hard to get to. I thought about cutting a hole in the floor to get at it from the top side. If anyone has accomplished this task please provide info on how you did it. Any help is greatly appreciated.
