Looking for RV cover

New to forum, looking for info on GOOD fitting RV cover for a 2007 Itasca Cambria 29H. This rig is now scheduled to remain outside through some harsh winters and hot summers. Last Class C cover, too loose, even with straps and shredded in first heavy wind.

Would have considered a carport but not enough space. Budget for cover ? Need to see the cover first. Recently in touch with an RVer who had a custom cover made, with a slight error, apparently a misunderstanding, however could not return because of custom order status and charge to correct was an additional $385. Do not know the outcome as he has not been in touch.

Search on here but most say no cover is better than one

My outside storage place here in Minneapolis has about 300 spaces - I can count the number of covers on one hand - that tells you something right there

Kodiak Shelters in Manitoba, Canada makes these gable end covers for storage, livestock etc.

They will ship them across North America and they are very well constructed. Can go concrete or soil. They are bright and do not let the weather in. I had one shipped to Ontario and put it up in 2 days. $9500.

The pipe is galvanized and the cover material has a 12oz material with a 10 year warranty.

Hello , Welcome,

Will this one work?
It says it will fit 26-29Ft. Never used. Been sitting in garage for a number of years. We went from Class c to Class A adventurer, Now with a Vista.

A Class C cover does not fit the Cambria 29H or the Aspect due to no overhang above the cab. This extra material tends to shred in the wind even when using additional tie downs. Thank you very much for the offer. Good luck, this should be a good deal for someone.

I am new to this so don't know if my reply went through. Again, I have considered a car port but am space restricted. As for budget, would have to see the cover first. The Class C covers just do not work...too loose and tend to shred in the wind. Would very much like to find an owner who has had a satisfactory cover made. Had a brief contact with an owner who ordered a custom cover that was unsatisfactory and could not return due to status of the order and was to be charged return shipping as well as a fee to correct the issue. Have not heard from him since....
Your shelter looks awesome. Had our previous class A in storage, since sold (Class A), storage not available, our Class B (Roadtrek) fit in the hangar, but not enough room for the Cambria, now on side of home.
Thanks again.

No Problem, sorry I can't help.
I have to agree, these covers deteriorate due to weather, it seems, if they aren't secured with a "vacuum seal".. Good Luck with this situation.

Yes sorry,

I didn't know if you meant tarp or covered building.

I'm sure you will come up with a solution - keep looking!

I used to buy a tyvek rv cover every year because the material thins out under the sun and after a year, it easily rips off. I called the manufacturer Adco and they recommend me getting the sunbrella custom cover. It's been 5 years now and the cover is still good. The only drawback to this is, it's heavy and the price is three times as much as a regular cover. Check out www.adcoprod.com .

My wife wanted to cover "the beast" (38' Class A). After doing some research, it seemed to me not warranted. (It's a 1998, so it's seen some weather.) Well, guess who won?

My research indicated that, not only do covers suffer from poor fit, esp in the wind, but the surface of the coach can be damaged from the chafing of the cover against the body.

Now, this is in PA, the northeast. I don't know what kind of weather events you get, but this was my conclusion. Again, guess who won. We found what should be a good cover at the best price on eBay.

We use a custom cover from Calmark Cover Company that's made of sunbrella fabric. It was purchased in 2009 for just shy of $1000. It has been used for about 5 months each winter since then and shows no sign of wear and I haven't noticed any of the abrasion or chafing to the coach that many warn about with other covers. I had an Adco tyvek cover on a prior class C and it made it about 3 years before it was full of rips and holes. YMMV

I had 2 covers. No need to bore anyone with covering details. Taping down antennas, Fighting to get a 200LB cover up on the coach I gave them to people I didn't like.
In most states a carport is a temporary structure and no permit is required. I have constructed several. The best is 2x2 Inch square steel tubing frame With wood screwed onto it. They are attractive and can stand most any storm that a house will..
Or you can fall off the coach while you are fighting with the cover. You see it can NOT be installed from the Ground.. Good luck
