I have noticed that the mattress in my Sunstar is ok but not great. I am thinking about using a memory topper. I also think that in a pinch I will be able to put this memory topper on the dinette or jack knife sofa when sleeping extra folks. Does anyone have any other ideas?

Costco has a really nice 4" thick memory foam mattress topper. We used one on our previous mattress and it really made a difference.

You might also consider contacting Knox foam in TN (knoxfoam.com). They will put together a visco elastic foam mattress to the exact size you need. We have one in our motorhome and it is very nice. Very similar to the Tempurpedic mattress but less expensive.

UPDATED - Date correction,

Next week only (Jan21-27/2008) there's a $40.00 coupon discount on the toppers at Costco. You can get the coupon at the service desk.

We have bought 2 queen size ones from Overstocked.com Mine is a 3 inch, works great on our winnebado jack knife sofa. A little wide so I trimmed the excess off the width. Easy to store under the sofa.

First trip with our new Sightseer we went to Costco and bought a king size 4" memory foam topper. We have a sleep number bed at home which I love, but sleeping in the coach now doesn't bother me one bit - that memory foam topper is wonderful. Its a good deal without the coupon but even better with one. No regrets buying one of those IMHO.

Upgraded OE Queen mattress to 12 inch foam with 4 inch memory topper. Wow! Great! Also.... noticeably reduced noise and vibrations from genset and basement air. Bought it at Sams Club.

The queen topper stock number is 112226

The king topper stock number is 112228

We did the same thing and what an improvement. I used an electric knife to cut the topper down a bit to fit excactly, cut like butter.

We also experienced the topper slipping off the matress each nite(the fix - I got a large rug to rug non slip sheet nearly the same size as the matress and put it between the topper and the matress and has not slipped not a 1/4 " in a year.

The Costco coupon book I received is called the "Wallet Coupon Book" publication #09MKG.0302

I can't find anything on their Web site. I did find that the coupon for the 52" Magnavox TV was $100.00 MORE using the coupon than if I ordered it using the online coupon. Go figure.

I'll check the web site when this coupon is valid next week and see what gives.

A downside to the memory foam toppers is that they get hard when they get cold. Atleast that is what I have found with ours (4" from Wal-MArt). I use a heated mattress pad (you sleep on top of the pad) and that really helps keep the mattress supple. Also David complains that the memory foam makes him too warm at times, it seems to hold body heat quite well. I like mine and will keep using one. My daughter thinks they make the bed too hard. It's really personal preferance.

they are about $20 less in the store, so it will be $100 for the queen. We looked at the display, and it looks liek you can use reguklar sheets since it compressse it. Is that true.

The display felt great, i was ready to take a nap.....

You need to add the thickness of the mattress topper + the thickness of your mattress to find out if you need the deep pocket sheets. Mine is a 4" pad on top of a 10" air mattress... I use the sheets for the thicker mattresses. Use a tape measure to actually measure your mattress. My air mattress is supposed to be 8" thick but time and air makes it thicker (higher?).
