Pass through storage

I'm checking out DP's and notice that some Winnebago and Itasca models have storage bins that come out with the slide, just like most of the Fleetwoods. Is there a different chassis on those models or is there another reason for not having pass through storage under the DP? As a fulltimer I need as much storage as possible so these units might not be for me. Thoughts?

Keep in mind , CCC#'s too, some bigger gas chassis were nearly overloaded from the factory, and a few diesels too. The reasoning behind the non pass through was access, manufacturers thought that crawling under the slide, for basement access, was awkward. But many floor plans will have the pass through storage.
When I was shopping, I was shown a diesel pusher, beautiful rig , hardwood , marble, every option; CCC of only 518 lbs, by the time my DW( and her purse) and I were in , there wasn't enough capacity for a six pack in the fridge without being overloaded.
For full timing you should be looking for a minimum CCC of 3,000lbs.

Kiltedpig Winnebago when away from the "STOREMORE" design to the passthru design around 2007. Storemore was nice but lost a lot of storage space.

We have a 2015 Itasca Meridian 36M with lots of basement storage (183cf). The Meridian® and the Winnebago-exclusive Maxum Chassis® features an innovative lowered-rail design that provides up to 229 cubic feet of storage. The underneath storage does not slide out with the slides (thank goodness). It has a huge double door pass through storage with an easy to pull slide-out storage bin that we can access from both sides. It couldn't be easier nor more perfect! The slide-out storage is the BEST!!!

I purposely looked for a model with the "storemore" design. As a full timer, I'm constantly getting stuff out...and hated crawling under the slide. Even at the expense of a few feet of storage, it's worth it to me, and with a center pull out tray that's four feet deep, it's ample enough. Winnebago rates each compartment for 300 lbs, so weight in the slide out isn't much of an issue, either. So I prefer it, but you'd have to go back to a pre-2008 to find one.

2000 Winn UA 40J

Our UA 40J is on a Freightliner and has the pass through and 4 more compartments that have loads of storage space it's all about the Chassis as we don't have a frame rail to deal with.
