This has been in the works for some time, but last Friday we "broke into" our piggy bank and ordered our 08 Vectra 40FD. We won't see her until the end of Jan. or most likely sometime in Feb., but that's okay since we won't start our camping season with our WIT club until March. This will be #5 since 1997 and since we ordered everything we really, really wanted in this one, I'd venture to say it will be our last....of course we said that when we bought the 04 Vectra....so never say never!

Thanks for the congrats. That "darn" Winnebago keeps making prettier and nicer coaches and we can't seem to resist the temptation.

I think they look great too and we are considering the Tour or Vectra at the moment so I will be really interested to read how it all goes for you between now and delivery.

Ice-man,
We looked at the Tour also. We really liked everything about it with a few exceptions. We wanted a couple of things that only the Vectra offered. They were mostly convenience items like the electric power reel. We have that in our 04 and since I do all the hook-ups and un hooks, I really like that. I will keep you posted and let you know how the process goes.

We have been looking at the TD Vectra. We like the floor plan rearrangement I like all the storage in the cargo bays. She like the closet and we both like smaller bathrooms.
I don't know what the cats will like.

Congratulations Glenda1908
We purchased a new 2007 Vectra TD last December and love it. The ride and the handling is great.

Glenda, Congratulations on your new "baby".
I hope you don't have too many growing pains.
Haven't seen you post for awhile, but think of you and the family often. Hope all of you have a Happy Holiday Season and I know you will be anxious to see 2008. Jim & Linda

Glenda,
Congratulation so the new Vectra. It's great to see repeat purchasors of the Winnebago products. They make a great coach, and obviously the Vectra is the flagship of the line.
I know you'll love your new rig.

Congrats on the new coach....great choice, but then I am a bit biased.....lol
We absolutely love our Vectra, Wish they continued to make the 36RD. With just the wife and I that is plenty of room.
Have Fun

Jim and Linda,
Thanks for the congrats. We are like anxious parents waiting for the arrival. Hope all is well with you and yours. We are thankful for another great year and the birth of our new granddaughter in Nov. We will be going to GNR again this year and wonder if anyone else out there is going to make the trip?? Several of our club members are going for the first time to see what we have been talking about. It should be a good one due to the 50th year celebration. Take care and have a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year.

Glenda, the excitement makes it hard to sleep waiting weeks for that new rig!!!
One word of caution on taking Jan/Feb delivery out of Iowa...
Our brand new Winne was deliverd mid-Dec '03 in a blizzard somewhere between Iowa and California. It arrived with rock salt/sand pits in both sides of windshield and many paint chips all over the rear cap and a lot of rust on the under carriage. The brand new paint chips easily and apparently the driver's dingy bounced the stones back into the rear of the coach. All the black paint on the leading edge of the under side was blasted off and rusted. The dealer had to re-paint the rear cap, replace the windshield, re-paint the entry steps and none of the resulting work was as good as the factory. We did learn that the 3M film on the front paint works really well --- you could not see a single ding or blemish in the front painted area.
The delivery drivers DO NOT treat the coach like it was their own rig. So you have a higher chance of damage on a winter delivery. My suggestion is to work with your dealer & find out the date the rig rolls off the production line and goes into final QA(3-4 days). As the time approaches, you can look at the weather forecast and decide if you want them to hold delivery for a few days.
Happy Trails,
Duner

Glenda,
We have already regestered and will be there (but not with a new coach).

I can atest to the fact that you will a lot of rust in the winter delivery, and regarless of what is tried to be fixed, you will find wiring problems that got salt and corraded, even though they use water tight fittings. It gets on nuts bolts and anything that can fail will. Not to burst your bubble, but ours was delivered, the lp tank looked like it was 10 years old, I finally painted it myself, cheaper than trying to get an appointment with the dealer to work me in, and drive 230 miles to have it done.
