what is empty rv weight
I have looked online about everywhere to find the dry weight of my new rv to get an idea about how many people, how much gas, water ,equipment etc it is below the load capacity. I have a 2020 outlook 25j. e350. max wt loaded 11800. A ball park figure would be helpful until I get it weighed. thanks.

Winnebago may be able to tell you the dry weight as the RV left the factory. Then water, waste, gear, fuel- propane and propulsion fuel, and people need to be added to that dry number to get total weight.

all of the below should preferably be done on the 4-corners (at the wheels) but that can be problematic. individual axle weights should be done at a minimum. weighing the motorhome with all axles on the scale may give you a false sense of security.
dry or empty weight: the weight of the MH as received ftom the dealer, factory or previous owner. empty water tank, empty waste tanks, minimum fuel (otherwise deduct 6-lbs per gallon from the rear axle weight), empty LP tank. no people, supplies, etc.
wet weight: weight with full fuel, lp and fresh water tanks. no people, supplies, etc.
payload: the weight that can be added to each axle...food, supplies, clothing, pets, people, stuff, etc. this is determined by subtracting the axle wet weight from the published gross axle weight rating for that axle.
rolling weight: total weight of the MH fully loaded for the trip.
good luck.

Drive the RV over to a Cat Scale at a truck stop: https://catscale.com/cat-scale-locator/
Yes it is intimidating to drive into a truck stop, but it is easy to do.
Just drive up on the scale, stop with your front tires on the platform by the speaker/microphone post and be sure your rear tires are on the platform behind. It is easy to see the divider space between the 2 platforms. Press the button on the speaker and tell them you are in an RV and want the weight for your personal use. They will take your weight and tell you to come to the office & pay a nominal fee for your weights. Pull off the scales, park and go to the office.
Be sure to have a full tank of fuel in the RV.

Here are the specs. They do not show empty weight. https://www.rvusa.com/rv-guide/2019-winnebago-outlook-class-c-floorplan-25j-tr38638
A weight scale may be your best option.

I use the local Mayflower warehouse - they have to weigh their trucks to know how much to charge the customers so any mover should have a scale. Sometimes they charge me a few dollars, sometimes they don't if I don't ask for a printout.

Go weigh your rig so you’re not guessing. Unless you like to guess.

Harvestmac,
Every Winnie I've ever owned.
Inside a closed door somewhere there is an "as built" 8"x11" glued to the door that will answer all your weight questions for your vehicle "as built".
Just look around and find it.

You dont need the empty weight ...... all the info you need is on the yellow OCCC sticker for your specific unit.

As Dickb46states, there will be a sticker inside one of the doors that states the info you are looking for.

Shouldn’t there be a tag showing that somewhere in your coach, typically behind the drivers seat?

The sticker inside our coach may give us several clues as to the dry weight. Here’s how I guesstimated our manufacturer dry weight for our 26m Intent:
It says, “COMBNINED WEIGHT ON OCCUPANTS AND CARGO MUST NEVER EXCEED 2,252 POUNDS”.
So is I have a GVWR of 16,000 pounds, if I subtract the maximum that I can add without going over 16,000#, I get 13,748 pounds as a dry-weight from the factory.
I assume “dry” because another sticker cautions that “A FULL LOAD OF WATER EQUALS 449 POUNDS OF CARGO (@8.3 # PER GALLON)”. So, they’re considering gas and water cargo as well.
Delving deeper, if you were to top off all of your tanks—black, grey, fresh water, water heater and full tank of gas, and propane, that’s another 1,631 pounds of cargo—leaving only 610#’s for everything else—food, clothes, tools and yes, your tongue weight for a toad. Did I forget people and pets? So one can see, there’s not a lot of room for extras there…of course, that’s if everything is full, which would be odd.

The dry weight spec though usually does not include optional equipment especially any that was installed by the dealer so take it with a grain of salt. Your usually best to have the coach weighed after loading it verifying that your not over weight and that the load is balanced before you inflate your tires to match the load and take the loaded coach to have it aligned to match how you have it loaded. The front end alignment Winnebago does is for delivering the empty coach to the dealership and not the final alignment for hauling around people and their stuff.
On some coaches there is not that much capacity after you add fuel, water and people and its very common for folks to overload the rear of the coach even though they are technically underweight overall which can make it so there is not enough weight on the front wheels for the coach to drive straight and true especially when being passed by large trucks or when there is a cross wind.

You will never have full grey, black and fresh water tanks at the same time. Your pint is taken that it all adds up.

I believe I addressed that at the end, by saying...

I agree with almost everything you said, except, that if you get the app, you don’t even have to go into the store or talk with anyone. Just drive up, and the app knows which scale your weighing at (it used gps from your phone to know), and you get the results on your phone instantaneously (take a screen shot), and you’re on your way...
