What is this stub on my roof.

Hi all! Have a 2016 Sunova 35G, second owner. Have a projection on my roof that is obviously electrical in nature, what would appreciate any thoughts as to what it might have been. It's centered up, about 2 feet in front of the aft AC cowling. Nothing in the coach shows any possible wire/cable leads or evidence that it was once functional. No roof damage, so not sure what or how, some kind of antenna was snapped off. One pic shows sealer dribble. Thanks for any ideas!!

Agree - can usually find a replacement that will screw into the threaded receiver at any auto parts, Walmart, etc.

Agree, I had the same thing on my 2015 Vista. The po had bought a new antenna but never installed it. When I was re-sealing the roof I just screwed the new one on, didn't need to replace the cable.

Agree

That sounds logical, but why would it have been placed just in front of the rear AC unit. Does anyone think it's a factory install? Again, no detection inside the coach. Thx.

Exactly. Same thing happened to mine, rusted through. Mine hasn’t fallen off yet, but it’s bent, and about to.

I ordered a new antenna from Winnebagoparts.com, and they gave me a whole new one. I only needed the part that you need—just the upper part that screws on to the base.

Still cheap, and an easy fix. It will undoubtedly improve your radio reception.

My 2015 Vista 27N has 2 rooftop AM/FM antennas as well. In mine, the rear one feeds to the radio/DVD player mounted below the outside TV.

Stub solved

Great info, thanks. I had totally forgot about the outside unit, Jensen DV2011 DVD. In fact, had to order from Scotland when I finally found a replacement for my shot unit. Have a spare faceplate and I think remote if anyone is interested. I recall the Jensen DV2011 DVD was no longer at Best Buy, etc, so so surfed over the Atlantic till I found one reasonably priced at a boat marina place.

Broken off rubber radio antenna for one of the entertainment centers. Should be an easy screw off/screw on replacement. Aft one on mine is for the outside entertainment center. Most auto parts stores should have the replacement rubber whip in stock.

That’s even better than having to go through a Winnebago dealer. I just didn’t want to take any chances, because I have a fear of heights, (or more succinctly, a fear of hitting the ground), so if I’m up on that roof, I want to KNOW that part will fit, and get the heck down...

Thats great Wyatt. Just need to look at the cogs on my broken one to see how a new screw-on type would work.

The rear one is for the radio/DVD player with the outdoor TV. There should also be one on the front. Both of mine have rotted and broken, got replacements at Lichtstinn RV for $9 each.
