Hello! 2009 Winnebago View 24H owner

Hello!

My husband and I recently purchased a 2009 Winnebago View 24H (We have the 3500 Sprinter Chassis with the 3.0 MB turbo (no DEF)) in October 2020 and have been "feeling out" the RV Life! It's been interesting for sure!

We've taken it on 2 big trips- a 3 week cross country trip from Washington State to Florida where I did most of the driving (over 6000 Miles!) while my husband worked remotely from the dining room table and just recently we drove down the PCH from Washington to Santa Monica- both were beautiful road trips.

Traveling with 2 labradors definitely has been challenging, but we have found some great RV campgrounds and this last trip to California was much easier.

The Winnebago has been great except for 1 issue that happened 2x on this last trip- while driving at highway speeds the transmission suddenly went into neutral- my husband (who is an automotive engineer- so is pretty mechanically savvy) keyed the vehicle on and off which "fixed" the issue. We're back home now and will take it in for a service as well as to get this checked out- just wondered if anyone has had a similar issue. I will post this question on the appropriate board as well.

(We actually had it go into LHM once during the October trip when going through the passes in Montana- but that was a different issue.)

I look forward to checking out all the different forums and learning more about the RV life!

Hi CMaxE,
What an odd problem popping-out of Drive like that. When a manual transmission does that, it is a worn synchronizer. Hopefully, you have already found the problem and have it fixed.
Southbound on the 101 is a great trip. Don't blink when you go through South Bend, Washington, or you might just miss it!
Welcome to the Forum.
Eagle5.
