Smile New owners of a 2023 Micro Minnie 2108DS

We just purchased a new 2023 Micro Minnie 2108DS. We are not new to camping, but would love to here thoughts on "must have's" for our new toy.

Congrats KinniKid19 on acquiring your 2108DS.
We’ve had our 2108 DS for 3 years now. We’ve had some great adventures; over 12,000 miles towing to all corners of continental US. You’ll find the 2108 to be a dream to tow with the proper tow vehicle, hitch setup and weight distribution. Some things are gonna break, so the first “must have” is a good toolbox, and a multimeter. Beyond that, the must haves are totally dependent on the kind of camping you plan to do. If you’ll be staying at full hookup campgrounds most of the time, there isn’t anything absolutely necessary for you get. Typical camping gear, a good outside griddle or grill, and a couple of camp chairs and you’re on your way. If you want to boondock without hookups, there’s a long list of things you’ll need. Recommend you do a few short trips to get a feel for your camper, and get a better idea of stuff you’d like to have. Happy trails.

Welcome to to forum. Our two best improvements were a new mattress ≈$1000 and a swivel faucet aerator ≈$15 for the bathroom sink. Other than that just typical camping items which you probably already have. We did have to make a couple simple repairs but those two improvements made a significant difference for us.

Is it recommended that we purchase a backup camera and/or a tire pressure monitoring system?

We purchased both. I use the backup camera mostly for lane changes on the highway, but don’t feel it is a necessity for backing up. The tire pressure sensors are convenient to quickly check all tires at stops. We bought the Lippert ones that the trailer was prepped for. I’m not sure about notifications while driving as it’s a smartphone based system and thankfully haven’t had any issues. I recommend the tire pressure monitoring as a good buy for the added safety and piece of mind. The camera I’m on the fence with. If you have experience towing I don’t think it’s as big of impact especially for this length and width trailer.

We never us3 the camera to back up. But it’s good to see vehicles I. Lanes on either side and behind you. I think TPMS is a must. You can check all tires before you leave on a trip, but the danger is if one starts running low. A TPMS will give you an alarm before you have a catastrophe exploding tire, and damage to coach.
