Forum LOOP

Have tried without success to link into the Class A forum section of 'Winnie Owners' but all that happens is that it loops back to itself. The link is broken. I haven't tested all the other links.

Starting here: www.winnieowners.com/forums/

I click on 'Winnebago Class A Motorhomes' on that page and it takes me directly back to 'www.winnieowners.com/forums/'.

Tried several other links like Class B and Class C and they work. Haven't tried them all though.

I can get to individual postings in Class A but cannot get to the Class A main page. Even the Quick Link at the top of Class A postings takes me back to /forums/.

If this is in the wrong section admin please move where the web site host might notice.

Thanks.

This seems to be an issue on your end only.

Try clicking on the log out button to delete your site cookies, then come back and login with your email address.

Did the log out. Signed back in using my email...no change. Still loops back.

I'm using Opera. Is there something at this site that would prevent Opera from deleting the cookies in question? Or is it strictly an Opera issue?

It is only that one forum page where this happens. If I click any of the other page links, it goes right to that page.

My guess is this a settings issue in Opera. Here's a link to some help managing cookies in Opera. How to clear, remove and manage cookies in Opera browser, 9.61+, 10.0 - All about Cookies

My Opera is version 58. That link is for 9.61+. Far too old to help. But thanks for your attempt.

But in an unusual coincidence, at about the time you posted, I found a more current 'Clear cookies & cache' posting and followed it. NO CHANGE. And there no longer is a way to turn off a redirect like there was when it was version 10 of Opera. Not that I can find anyway.

Another strange thing is a couple other forum links and iRV2 had this problem first, but it cleared up when I cleared cookies. Cleared up in all of them except WinnieOwners! It's impossible for me to directly navigate to Class A forum when I visit. I'm always looped back to the main page. I can get there from one to the quick links in the side bar though.

It's a redirect, but if it's caused by Opera, it's not in cookies, not in cache, it's hidden somewhere.

Surely you have some other browser on you device. What happens when you test the issue from another browser? I’m not telling you to drop your favorite browser, just for testing purposes.

No. Haven't tried that. Cleared cookies and the cache, but not the history. Hmm.

Yes, yes I have, and don't call me Shirley.

I have Firefox & Chrome as well as Opera. The bookmarks are all the same in all three browsers and the issue never happens in FF or Chrome.

I prefer Opera because it does so little user tracking targeting users for ads. It's much faster as a result. The mouse lag I have with Chrome and FF is gone with Opera.

BTW, I started this question on the Opera forum and I'm getting better answers here.

THAT WORKED! You are a genius. No one at the Opera forum bothered to mention that as a possible solution.

THANKS!

BTW, Creativepart, any idea of WHY or HOW something in the history could have caused those redirects?
