Search Functions Need Work

I've been searching for numerous items the past few months since becoming a member and am not impressed with your search functions, standard or advanced.

Regardless of the key words I use, I get tons of unrelated postings, and it's very difficult to find pertinent ones. Unless a poster has edited the tags, the automatic tag generator doesn't seem to do a good job of assigning useful tags. Personally, I try to take the time to add pertinent tags but I'm sure I'm in the minority.

Going to Advanced and limiting my search to titles helps but is still less than desirable.

I seem to get better and more focused results via a standard Google search:

??????? site:winnieowners.com

I doubt that my experience is unique. Any improvement would be appreciated.

BobC-

Using the Google method you mention is the best way to search this site and its companion site, iRV2.com.

On iRV2.com they give you a search box that does the same thing as the Google search, but I don't see one here.

Remember, if you use Google to search on iRV2.com, put the term "f101" in the Google query, if you want to search just the Winnebago Owners Forum, e.g.,

"Adventurer" "BIM" "f101" site:irv2.com

I've noticed that IRV2 has a "Powered by Google" search function but Winnieowners does not.

If I were in charge, I'd go with the "Powered by Google" function and forget the rest.
