Charles! A big SORRY about taking so long to answer, I didn't even know this page existed (or I forgot) until today.

I DO still have my original assemblies, and I kept the original metal frame and plastic lenses even though I found extensive corrosion. HERE is my blog post: Brake, Turn, Running Lights....

If I find moisture inside again, I would just use clear silicone on the tops and sides. Leaving the bottom open to drain. Too easy to repair those sockets so I just don't care to toss assemblies like these.

NO, didn't not replace the bulbs or assemblies with LEDs. Why? Because I have handfuls of the incandescent bulbs I bought in Mexico for $0.10 each. That's incentive enough to use them instead of LEDs.

Anywho, sorry about the delay...I just did not know about your message.

Hi Jim, do you still have the original tail light and trun signal assemblies on your Journey (yours is identical to my 2002 Journey)? I thought you might have changed the whole assembly to something LED. Water has entered both port and starboard assemblies for turn and stop/tail light. This has corroded the assemblies.

Next question: 6 pin round to 4 flat is split through a straight Y - one for tow dolly and one for harbor freight magnetic led to attach to the car. The dolly tail/brake and turn signals work on the tow dolly just fine; however, the hf leds just show tail and brake lights but no turn signals. Any ideas or corrections to make to the hf leds that would activate the turn signals?

Hope all is well and I follow your blog too.

You are welcome! Really appreciate that you're reading my articles. I do try hard to be accurate but always double check my work if you know what i mean. Ha!

And Happy Holidays to you and yours. I had my prostate flare up on T-day so I went to the ER at 2:30 AM, walked out with a catheter. Boo. My sister brought me T-Day dinner though so that was good. Week later got the catheter removed and a week after that, drove down here to Pahrump, but it's not all that warm this year here. Well, beats Milton Freewater, OR where I was staying. Anyway, have a great Christmas.

Thanks so much on "step cover" response. I have seen your stuff on various sites and your blog too. You create great material that is well thought out, through and accurate. I just wanted to give you a kudo for you diligent efforts. Happy Thanksgiving. We are here in Rainbow Plantation for the winter and holed up for the Covid-19. Cheers
