My coach has 22.5-inch truck tires and doolies on the back. I also have tire pressure sensors on each one of the 6 tires. In five years, none of the tires have needed repair but the inside rear on the driver's side started to leak air ever so slowly. This began about 10 months ago, and it consistently lost about 5 PSI a week. Suspecting the sensor to be the cause, I tried swapping then, removing them and caping the valve stem. Nothing changed. This became and real annoyance and drove me to getting...

Why the upgrade:
In an earlier blog I mentioned I had pierced the rear-view video cable with one or more pin nails I used to hold up some strips on the ceiling of my coach. (See blog "Sagging Headliner") Sadly, the camera and monitor are still working fine but the nail happened to sever the shielded video transmission line. It would be completely impractical to route a new cable through the ceiling and the idea of routing one under the coach was unappealing. So, after a...

I have been told by fellow campers that coaches and other RVs of a vintage such as my 2052 Journey have a headliner that predictively fails to say attached to the ceiling after ten or so years. Well, mine is not exception to that. I woke up one morning to find the vinal pulled away from the edge and sagging down almost to the bed. It already had some bubbles in the Livingroom and other places, so I knew it was only a matter of time before something need to be done.

After sanitizing the freshwater system, the drainpipe on the holding tank developed a slight leak. My first Instinct was that the cable had slipped past the set screw and the valve wasn't closing completely. After crawling under the coach, removing the inspection cover, and adjusting the cable, the leak only got worse. Each time the valve was opened and closed more and more water flowed out. This could mean only one thing; The valve seals are shot and need replacing. As a temporary fix, I cut a...

There are plenty of stories on the Internet about failed adhesive attaching metal parts to fiberglass body panels. In this case, I am referring to the hinges on the front hood that allows access to the generator on my 2005 Journey. One side had completely detached, and the other was loose. It is surprising to me that Winnebago would rely entirely on adhesive for something like this. This is not the only location they did this. I reattached the lower part of the rear cap some time back using Devcon...
